Great News: Abbey Psalms & Canticles Back in Print!

The new translation of the Psalms and Canticles that will be incorporated into the Liturgy of the Hours Second Edition, called the “Abbey Psalms & Canticles” (formerly the Revised Grail), was first published upon its approval for optional liturgical use in early 2020 by USCCB Publications in an attractive hardcover format.

Unfortunately, with USCCB shuttering its publishing arm, this excellent resource — containing the complete psalter in numerical order, plus all the Old and New Testament canticles used throughout the Liturgy of the Hours, and a table outlining the order in which the psalms were to be read in the breviary — was temporarily out of print and it was unclear whether it would reappear again as a standalone publication before being integrated into the complete new edition of the divine office (ETA 2026 as of this writing).

I am happy to report that Magnificat picked up the project, and has released an attractive and affordable softcover edition for $12.95 (or $9.95 for current Magnificat subscribers), that can be previewed and ordered here: https://bookstore.magnificat.net/the-abbey-psalms-and-canticles.html

In addition to the hard copy, the Abbey Psalms & Canticles are now also available in electronic format for the Kindle, Kobo, Nook, and Apple Books, from the same link above.

Excellent news! Thanks to Magnificat for picking up this worthy project and making it more accessible for all.
